Review of Satellite TV for PC 2008 Elite Edition

Number of TV/Radio Channels:

The 2008 Satellite TV for PC Elite Edition boasts 3000+ channels worldwide from 78 countries. Also along with the software came two plugins: TVAnts and TVUPlayer which gave an additional 600+ channels to choose from. One of the most important aspects involving satellite TV for PC I was concerned about was the overall picture and sound quality. I noticed the channels with some countries were better qaulity then others, but overall I was impressed with the quality of the sound and picture. Even the average quality channel pictures were easily viewable and allowed me to enlarge the viewing area to full screen without a problem.

The radio channels and sound quality of the TV pictures were just as good if not better quality then the radio channels you can hear in your vehicle.

Most all of the TV channels were available 24 hours a day throughout the week, however there are a few channels only available at certain times due to the time zone differences in other countries and different programming guide schedules. Most importantly the U.S., Canada, UK and all other major countries in Europe have uninterrupted TV channels such as ESPN, BBC News, CNN, Weather Channel, sports, music and movies, etc.

With over 3600 channels to choose from I was not surprised at the wide variety of channels available. To mention a few, you get 24/7 news, sports networks, ESPN, baseball, hockey, football, soccer, TV sitcoms, Animal Planet, Golf, Cooking, Music videos, Religious channels, and much more. The radio stations offer many different styles of music channels in all different countries such as Rock, Hard rock, Metal, Christian etc. Also there are a variey of news and talk show channels available in each country. The radio stations make an excellent desktop companion because of the variety and availability of channels without advertisements.

The Satellite TV for PC Elite Edition 2008 will work for Windows 95/98/ME/XP/Home/Professional/Vista software programs.  For this review the software was installed using the Windows XP operating system. With the typical windows based setup file and with no special requirements, installation was a breeze and no problems were encountered.

I found the interface easy to navigate through and easy to get accustomed to. To play the TV or Radio channels it is a simple matter of double-clicking the channel with your mouse under the preffered country category. No special computer knowledge is necessary to operate this program.
